It’s worse than ever – it seems as if every website I visit has a video that not only plays but blares out a most annoying sound track. I find this very obnoxious on news sites – I’m looking to read the news but almost all news stories have a video at the top. And, of course, they all start with an ad.
An easy way to mute the sound is to look for a speaker icon on your browser’s tab. Just click on it to mute the sound. The video still plays and to stop the video you have to pause it but I find clicking the speaker to mute much faster.
